Certified to IEC61508 as a "Programmable Electronic Safety System," our ELS is suitable for use in safety-related applications up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2. With features that design safety into the product, ELS is a point-to-point system that is easy to program, configure, and use. It's flexible modular approach provides a cost-effective solution for applications with limited I/O counts per node or those with high I/O counts as well due to it's ability to accommodate up to 64 8-channel I/O modules. Either single or redundant controller configurations can be used to ensure availability. Redundancy meets the SIL2 safety function with an entirely bumpless transfer. Further enhancements can be made by using redundant, fault tolerant ethernet communications and power supplies as well.

Online changes, where allowed by local practices, allows new safety programs and configurationto be downloaded in real time, without disrupting the safety function.

Open Communications allows all the controller nodes to communicate with each other via Modbus TCP/IP protocol - a widely supported Ethernet Protocol.

Safe and Standard Module Compatibility allows standard I/O modules to be mounted on nodes along with ELS safety I/O modules without affecting the node's functional safety performance. This flexibility simplifies hardware design.

Comprehensive Programming Tools provide the option to program the required safety function in one of three IEC 61131-3 languages (ladder diagram, function block diagram, and structured text) and assist in testing and commissioning the system.

HART Compatibility allows full access to HART field devices and AMS Maintenane Software, which simplifies documentation requirements and enhances safety.
